10 a.m. - Free Community Movie: The Goonies at the Capitol II sponsored by YMCA, Lauterbach Buick GMC and MercyOne Newton Medical Center (FREE)
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. - Senior Knowledge Fest hosted by Newton Village & St. Croix Hospice (FREE)
1 p.m. - Magic Show with magician Jonathan May at the Newton Public Library (FREE)
3 p.m. - Gezellig Brewing Company's "It's Our Lucky 7" Anniversary
6 p.m. - Newton Alumni Association's Friday Night All Class Reunion at Legacy Plaza ($5 Cover)
7 p.m. - Free Community Pool Party at Maytag Pool sponsored by Advantage Credit Union (FREE)
- All classes celebrating their reunions are invited to participate in this fun display of Red Pride! The theme is remember our past while looking forward to the future. Awards are given for most creative, most nostalgic, and best overall at Saturday's Brunch.

- Come get practical advice for a better life at Senior Knowledge Fest! We will have 4 different presenters covering a variety of topic that every Senior Adult need to know. Lunch will be provided at this free event! Please RSVP with Miranda via email or 641-840-0242.
1 p.m. - Magic Show with magician Jonathan May at the Newton Public Library (FREE)
- Professional Magician, Jonathan May, is a full time entertainer specializing in magic and fun, for audiences of all ages and sizes! He'll be performing for free at the Newton Public Library in the Library Meeting Room. Come see what everyone is talking about!
3 p.m. - Gezellig Brewing Company's "It's Our Lucky 7" Anniversary
6 p.m. - Newton Alumni Association's Friday Night All Class Reunion at Legacy Plaza ($5 Cover)
- Cover charge of $5 per person with complimentary hors d'oeuvres supports the Newton chapter of Dollars for Scholars. More information from the Newton Alumni Association can be found here.
7 p.m. - Free Community Pool Party at Maytag Pool sponsored by Advantage Credit Union (FREE)
- Enjoy a fun family night at Maytag Pool courtesy of the Advantage Credit Union! The pool will be open free of charge from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with concessions sales available.

- Join us on Saturday for a FREE yoga session led by Rachel Braafhart! The session will be held at Maytag Bowl. Open to all skill levels from curious beginners to advanced yogi. Bring your yoga mats.

- See you at Gezellig Brewing Company on Saturday for a fun run! They've mapped out a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at Gezellig Brewing Company and weaves throughout the Legacy Plaza neighborhood of Newton. Run, walk, jog - whatever goes! All ages, all levels are welcome.
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Centre for Arts & Artists Open House (FREE)
11 a.m. - Newton Main Street Downtown Car Show ($15 pre-registration (register online!) for cars but FREE for the community to walk through)
- Join us on the downtown square for a car show! The car show is FREE to the public to check out. If you want to enter a car or participate: Parking and registration takes place from 8 - 11 a.m. with judging from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.; categories include: Best of Show, Best Engine, People's Choice, Longest Distance Traveled, Best Paint and Bob Provin Memorial.
12 p.m. - 2 p.m. - Newton Fire Department & Newton Police Department's Safety Fest at Maytag Park (FREE)
- The Newton Fire Department and Newton Police Department will be parked at the park with a fire truck, ambulance, police vehicle, and more! There will be fun activities and chances to meet police officers and firefighters.
12 p.m. - 4 p.m. - Newton Fest Fun Zone (including inflatables, rock climbing wall, laser tag) at Maytag Park (FREE)
- The Newton Fest Fun Zone at Maytag Park will feature inflatables and laser tag can be enjoyed by residents of all age for free.

- Hop aboard for family fun during Newton Fest with free mini train rides sponsored by Alta House Wedding & Event Center and Timberline East RV Campground. Be sure to keep an eye out for mascot appearances throughout the afternoon, including crowd favorites Klawz the Dino and Sasquatch — always a hit for photos and smiles with festivalgoers of all ages

- Join Short Years Partnership - Parents as Teachers at Maytag Park for a fun, family-friendly bean bag toss activity. Kids can test their aim by knocking down cups, then enjoy bubbles and sidewalk chalk for even more hands-on fun.

- Take a minute and color! Jasper County Habitat for Humanity will be set up with free coloring pages and other goodies right outside the Maytag Pool Pavilion.

4 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Newton Fest Concert featuring Rhythmic Rewind at Maytag Bowl (FREE)
- Get ready for an evening of classic rock, soul, and throwback favorites with Des Moines-based Rhythmic Rewind. Featuring experienced musicians with decades of stage and studio experience, the band brings a crowd-pleasing mix of hits from artists like Chicago, Santana, The Doobie Brothers, and beloved Motown classics — plus a few newer favorites mixed in along the way. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the music or get up and dance, this free concert promises a fun, high-energy atmosphere for all ages. Several band members are inductees in the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association Hall of Fame, and their polished sound, engaging performance, and timeless setlist make them a perfect fit for a summer evening at Newton Fest.
6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. - Newton Fest Pickleball Tournament hosted by the Newton YMCA at Aurora Park Pickleball Courts ($50 per team - register online!)
- Tournament played under the lights at Aurora Park! Competitive and recreational doubles divisions are open to teams of any gender combination. Teams will be grouped according to playing ability. The tournament will begin with round robin pool play, followed by a double-elimination bracket. Pool play matches are best two-out-of-three games, played to a cap of 11 points. Championship bracket matches are also best two-out-of-three. Losers bracket matches will be one game to a cap of 15 points.
