Damon Dotson + Band in Concert (FREE)
7 p.m. - Thursday, June 10 | Maytag Bowl (Maytag Park - 301 S 11th Ave W; Newton, IA 50208) Damon Dotson is a singer/songwriter based out of Des Moines, IA and originally from Northwest Iowa. Dotson has released four original albums and played countless shows throughout the Midwest. He has opened for legendary performers like BB King, Willie Nelson, The Beach Boys, as well as modern artists like Matt Nathanson, Edwin McCain, and The Lone Bellow. Those attending the free concerts are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and are welcome to bring coolers to Maytag Park as they enjoy the free, live music. |

Q 4 Causes is a non-profit organization, composed of four local families. Q 4 Causes is a BBQ contest held during Newton Fest with all proceeds going to help a local organization in our community with needs.
The 2021 Q 4 BBQ Contest will see competitors arriving Friday afternoon with the competition taking place on Saturday. Judges will judge at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Make sure to be at Maytag Park at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 as all the smoke meats will be available to the public at a free will donation of $5/plate which will be donated to Discover Hope 517 and awards will be given after the BBQ feed.
For those interested in competing: The contest will be a three meat contest featuring chicken, ribs and pork. $150 entry for teams who want to compete. Email [email protected] to register a team.
